Activities not covered by other topicsTroop 594’s Meetings
For July’s entry, I decided to tell you what Troop 594 does during their meetings each Monday night. First, at seven o’clock, the meeting starts, and we have the flag ceremony.

Once the ceremony is over, everyone works on rank and usually a merit badge is taught. So far, Mr. Barker has taught both genealogy and medicine merit badges. It was really fun what we did during the meetings, especially the one where we went to Dr. Sill’s office. Sometime in the future, we even plan to help out at a blood drive.

Now, since we are pretty much done with medicine, Zach S. is teaching us physical fitness. We do sit-ups and push-ups, run, and stretch. It will be great earning this merit badge!

After working on Scout skills, we play a game. It is usually British bulldogs or manhunt. I think this is the best part of the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, announcements about the future are held. Also, Dr. Denton has something called Scoutmaster Minute with the boys. It is basically about what is happening now in the world, and it always has a spiritual lesson, or moral. Then there is a closing flag ceremony and the meeting is over.
