On August 3, 2009, Troop 594 had its second Court of Honor this year. The Court of Honor is supposed to recognize the achievements and awards that the Scouts have earned.

As people arrived, the scouts would get in line for snacks and beverages that each family brought. The scoutmasters got the awards ready while we ate.

Once everybody had eaten there was a flag ceremony, and some selected scouts got to say what the words in the Scout Law meant. Then each person would light a candle.

Next the awards and achievements were presented. First, everyone who sold at least one camp card came up and was handed a certificate. Next the merit badges were presented. Some of them included energy, canoeing, soil and water conservation, and first aid. One person earned ten of them! The third part of the recognition included advancing to the next rank, like from Star to Life.

After the awards and recognitions had been given some Scouts did a skit about a German and a British person fighting in a war. It was pretty funny. After the skit the Court of Honor ended.
